CHRISTMAS SENSORY PLAY IDEAS

'TIS THE SEASON TO BE SENSORY so here are some easy festive sensory ideas for you - give them a try and see which one your baby loves.

TWINKLE TWINKLE

Hold your baby up to twinkly lights on your Christmas tree and watch them stare in delight!

RED & GREEN

These are the first colours that baby's can see so show them anything around the home in these festive hues and see how they respond.

RETAIL THERAPY

Your baby will love looking in all the shop windows this time of year - so many lovely sparkles and bright, bold reds and greens to engage with.

REFLECTIONS

Pick your shiniest bauble and show your baby their reflection in it - they will love seeing their own face and looking at the shimmer on the bauble.

TEXTURES

Christmas brings so many sensory textures too, so try tickling baby's toes with tinsel or letting them scrunch up wrapping paper.

SCENTS

Babies' have an excellent sense of smell, so if you're making something delicious, let baby get a whiff. You can even pop Christmas scents like cinnamon sticks or mulling spices into the middle of a muslin (and secure tightly with an elastic band) for them to experience the smell.

Merry Christmas to you and your little one.

Love Jen & Etta xx
